How to Optimize Local Business SEO in WordPress + My favorite backlink checker tools

Hey TRUNG,

Recently, I helped a friend of mine improve his local business SEO rankings.

It was actually quite easy because most other local business websites simply aren't optimized.

The trick is to add the right local business schema markup.

I know that probably sounds gibberish to you, so I created a step-by-step tutorial.

Whether you have a single retail location or multiple locations, just follow the steps there, and it will help you get an edge over your competitors.

McDonalds, Starbucks, and many other big businesses follow this same technique, and you should too :)

New WordPress Guides on WPBeginner:

- I was recently asked if my list of best backlink checker was up to date, and it wasn't so I fixed it. Every quarter, I use these to review my website backlinks and my competitor's backlink strategy so I can get ahead.

- In case you missed it, we acquired one of the top-rated WordPress donation and fundraising plugin, WP Charitable. I shared a bit of background story and what's coming next.

- Ever wondered where does WordPress store images on your site? This beginner's guide explains all the details, and it covers how to change image storage locations.

- Did you know that you can create a Reddit clone with WordPress? Our team created a detailed tutorial on how to make a Reddit-like website using WordPress. This was a fun exercise.

- Have you ever run into the post-processing of image failed error in WordPress? We made a helpful troubleshooting guide so you can fix it.

- On the WPBeginner podcast, we talked about 5 simple WordPress SEO tips to grow your traffic.
